MPC instead of a seed phrase
Zengo's defining architectural choice is replacing the traditional single seed phrase with multi-party computation: the private key is never assembled in one place. Instead, key shares are split between your device, Zengo's servers and an encrypted recovery file, and a transaction is signed collaboratively without any single party ever holding the complete key. Recovery model
Recovery uses a 3-factor scheme (typically device, an encrypted recovery file stored with a cloud provider of your choice, and a biometric/3D FaceLock step) rather than a written phrase — there is no seed phrase to write down or lose. This is a genuine usability improvement for users who find seed-phrase management error-prone, at the cost of introducing Zengo's own service and your chosen cloud provider as parts of the recovery chain.
